Where can we see the page or code of jsartoolkit and three.js?

Postby skylook » Sun Aug 28, 2016 11:09 pm

I found this article in our webpage is very interesting and useful:
http://artoolkit.org/blog/2016/07/jsart ... nd-threejs

But I haven't got where to try this tool, and is there any open source code of it? Thanks :-D

Hello.

Currently it isn't hosted.

I will see about getting it up somewhere.

There is a similar demo here.....

http://webar-familiebux.rhcloud.com

Here is a json file to use in. You must rename it to ARDemo.json.

The forum would not let me upload it as *.json.

We will upload the Augmented Alignment once we have procured web space. Will update you.

Hi there,

the augmented alignment is here: http://ar-alignment.augmentmy.world/

However it is still in alpha state and may not work correctly yet. Please post here the findings you have while using it.
If I responded on a post and miss keeping up please ping the post again. Sometimes they just slip through :-) .

Hi,

The augmented alignment page doesn't work anymore since a secure connection is mandatory:

Console says:
getUserMedia() no longer works on insecure origins. To use this feature, you should consider switching your application to a secure origin, such as HTTPS. See https://goo.gl/rStTGz for more details.
ARController.getUserMedia @ /js/artoolkit.min.js:1

That's a shame. Which Browser are you using?

I'm using Chrome 56.0.2924.87 with windows 10 1607
I didn't looked further so the problem was between the chair and the keyboard:
It works with Firefox 45.0
It works with Edge 38.14393.0.0

It doesn't work with IE 11.953.14393.0

My Windows only allows one browser using the camera at a time.

Have you attempted to save the page and serve it to yourself locally?

Yes I did. "save as" in Firefox doesn't give good results because some files referenced in the css aren't downloaded and there are console errors that I don't know where they are comming from. So I aspired the page with HTTrack and added the getCamParam.php file that is described in https://artoolkit.org/blog/2016/07/jsartoolkit-and-threejs. It works but it's very slow when I try to set position "LEGO_Man.obj" from my laptop.

My AR scene is 26,7 Mo, actually a flat, it's json and I understand I should create a very light shape around my scene to position it with the alignment viewer page without going mad (more mad?).

I don't know what to do with this 4x4 array shown on the page but I noticed values doesn't change anymore when I put the cursor into one of them.
Is it please possible to have some information on how to apply the transformations to a scene so the scene is aligned when a marker is scanned?

My scene contains 171627 faces (411.314 triangles). It's now badly positionned and it is shivering (edit: when meshes are far from the camera) with the jsartoolkit5-master (downloaded 18 march 2017) from github. The torus is perfectly still in the examples.
The same scene works good with artoolkit for Unity (target android), but I'm facing another problem: https://artoolkit.org/community/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=27764.
I like the browser approach, so I need to work with my 3D editor to reduce polygon count if I want it to work with JSArtoolKit.

Regards

Hi,

Scaling is working very bad for me. I can't get the meshes appear on the marker.

What model type are you using? .json or .obj etc....

Is this a scaling issue? If the model does not appear at all.

I use the models downloaded from the online alignment page + the ARDemo.json. I can move and rotate the gizmo, not scale the gizmo. The models are not appearing on the screen except sometimes I seen a bit of a shape when the marker is far from the camera, like the models were to high or to huge.

You need to shrink the models. Scale them by 0.05 or some other appropriate value by default when you load them.

Setting a scale on load to the mesh make it appear (I used 0.05 as suggested). JSON objects are not displayed, only .obj are. Scaling with the mouse does nothing (gizmo unchanged). Scaling with ‘+’ and ‘-’ scales the gizmo but not the mesh. I use Chrome.
